Delight

Here's a nice shot for a gloomy day. This was taken up near Laporte, CO, just north of Fort Collins. It's a beautiful walking spot near the fish hatcheries.

Tour de Fat

On this gloomy Friday, I have a picture to lighten someone's day. Here is a shot of the annual Tour de Fat in Fort Collins. While its not the only Tour de Fat in the nation, it's the biggest! We can usually round up about 5,000 people who want to dress up and ride around for the day.

It's sponsored by the fabulous New Belgium Brewery. They also sponsor The Gallery Underground participating in the First Friday Night Gallery Walks that occur every first friday of the month in Fort Collins where all the art galleries stay open from 6-9/10 p.m.

So, think this is fun? Come down tonight to see more art and fun had by Fort Collians! Gallery Underground is right beside the marble statue in Old Town Square.

Obama

In honor of President Obama 101st day, here is a picture I took of him during the presidential primaries back in 2007. I was in Selma, Alabama, where he was speaking just down the street from Hillary Clinton on that day in March. Shortly after this was taken, I got to shake his hand. I'm lucky I even got the picture, it was the last frame on my last roll of film. Enjoy!

This American Life

Hi there. I've decided to start a blog to bring my photos to the masses (or hopefully a few people.) This is the first of the daily photos, called "This American Life". It's an image I captured back in December on Christmas vacation in Alabama at my grandmother's house. I love her expression, and the flow of the entire picture.

I hope to bring you images that communicate how I see the world, often in kind of an obscure way. Look through my eyes, my lens, Amelia Obscura.
